So today I woke up with the weirdest feeling. I felt like I wanted to clean my room. Yeah I know, I am in shock too! This does not happen to me very often. I always tell my mother that the room must look like someone lives in it, otherwise it’s just a room from a lifestyle magazine. I think I took my own words a little bit too seriously sometimes, well, most of the times actually.
I started cleaning, had a lot. I mean, a LOT of breaks. But I have to say I am proud of what became the result of my hard work. During my cleaning, I saw some stuff I totally forgot I had, or had lost for weeks. Now, with everything done, I look again at my room and figured what a lovely room I actually have. I find it important that you make your room your own. I mean, everybody buys stuff at Ikea or other likewise stores, I do as well. But I like it when you have some unique stuff in it. I love LOVE to shop stuff at flea markets.  The stuff in my room of which I am most proud of are the ones I bought on those markets.  I would love to show them to you.
These little paintings I got for my birthday. They were a present from my grandma. Her mother bought them at the time, which means they are from around 1900. I love old stuff, and these paintings are just lovely.
So this is a litlle piano, you can wind it up and music comes out of it. I got it when my other grandma died, so it has a lot of meaning to me. Behind the little piano you can see some little paintings. The one in the middle I got myself at a flea market. Beside the painting is a little photograph. The person, on the one you can see, is my great grandfather. On the photo you can't see is my great grandmother. These picturers were taken for their engagement. So it's pretty old as well.
I absolutaly adore this lamp. I bought it a while a go on a flea market in Belgium. The little flowers you see on are baby pink. It has a very sweet and romantic touch on it. Behind the lamp you can see a photograph of Audrey Hepburn. I got this one for my birthday from my best friends. I love audrey, I think she is a very inspiring person.

I know you can't really see what it is, but I love this photo, so I used it anyway. These are books I bought at a local store. The one, who looks like a very dusty book, is from the year 1894. I had to have it!
This is a French fashion magazine from the year 1912.  As you can see, it's filled with fashion from that time. I absolutely adore it. I bought it in belgium as well. You have to be very carefull with it, because it's all paper (something my dad didn't really understood)

This is the last photo. I could have gone on and on, but somewhere you have to stop. This is my dressingtable. It is filled with old and new stuff. The pictures you see are black and white, one photo is the wedding of my grandparents and the other one is my grandfather. These pictures give an extra old vibe to the dressing table. The babyshoes are my own. I think they are very adorable, even if I say so myself. The gloves and the purse were from my great grandma and so I can go on and on.

So, these were some of my "unique"stuff from my room. And in case you didn't notice I love to take pictures in black and white.

Love,
Me
